The Team Challenge

The Team Challenge Tournament is an exciting new addition to the Submission Challenge Tournament Series.

In addition to our World Class Sub Only Open Invite format tournament we will be now offering an Exciting new Open Team Format for Sub Only Competitions.

THE TEAM CHALLENGE IS so much fun. Its a NEW TEAM GRAPPLING TOURNAMENT FORMAT ADOPTED FROM SAKURABA’S QUINTET FORMAT. THE TEAM WINS A TEAM MATCH, NOT THE INDIVIDUAL. THIS FORMAT MAKES THE TEAMS THE WINNER AND NOT THE SINGLE INDIVIDUAL ATHLETE.

• Matches consist of two teams of five facing each other in a “winner stays on” elimination format.
  
• Matches begin with one fighter from each team competing. This is called a “round”. When a submission is scored, the round is over and the defeated fighter is out of the match. The winning fighter, though, immediately faces the next member of the opposing team in a new round.
  
• The match continues, round by round, fighter by fighter until one team is completely eliminated.
  
• The two most successful team from the opening bouts will meet in the Championship Finale.
  

WAYS TO WIN

Submission/tapout/ref stops round

Disqualification:  Round will be ruled a DRAW if no finish in the allotted time (both fighters are then immediately eliminated from the match) Ref Disqualification for stalling (after 3 warnings)

Tie Breaker Round -  Day of Tournament Random Fighter Number will be selected by Head Ref at rules meeting (fighter 1 - 4) . This is the fighter to go into Finals Match in event of a Tie. The Tie breaker Match will be regulation time with EBI OT  if no submission occurs. Up to 3 overtime rounds to determine the victor by fastest submission or fastest escape.

• 1X8min round
  
• 1X4min round (in case of 40lbs+ weight deference)
  

※SURVIVOR STAYS-ON SYSTEM ※

• Winner fights to the next fighter from the opposing team.
  
• Draw means both fighters are out.
  
• If the final fighter loses, the team loses.
  

ONE DAY TOURNAMENT SYSTEM

The team winning the first round must present the order of fighters - who have not yet fought - to fight next. 

WEIGH INS- Occur day 8am in which the fight order and team member final names will be submitted. a 5lb weight allowance will be available to each team. Weigh ins happen one time. Missed weight results in disqualification.
